AQUA is a packaged mineral water product that was established in Indonesia. The founder of AQUA was the late Indonesian entrepreneur Tirto Utomo.
Initially, Tirto Utomo aimed to provide high-quality drinking water for Indonesians. Therefore, in 1973, Tirto Utomo founded a company called PT Golden Mississippi after observing bottled water products abroad.
In the same year, Tirto Utomo also built his first factory in Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, West Java, to produce packaged drinking water in Indonesia.
PT Golden Mississippi then launched its first packaged drinking water under the AQUA brand, utilizing glass bottle packaging in 1974.
